getting back on blogging track!

wow!! january is more than half over and I have been extremely lax in my updates!! here are a few things that have happened in my life since my last blog.......

1. global warming was deemed to be all hype and superstition at least in the month of january in michigan
2. my beautiful bride turned 29 (again) jk, this is the first time.
3. my church has initiated a 21 day fast to seek after the heart of God first thing in the new year. My wife and I are enjoying a "daniel" fast which in a nutshell means we pretty much can't eat meat, dairy, or sweets (but we can eat the nutshell) It hasn't been so bad (except for cutting coffee) however lately my flesh has pretty much been demanding an "angry" whopper which is strange because I haven't eaten at BK in years.

Lastly, I have changed positions on staff at my church. After 5 years being directly involved in youth ministry, I am now overseeing the day to day operations at our church. My official title is assistant to the regional manager. JK, its "senior associate pastor" which pretty much makes me Pastor Lee's (my spiritual mentor, brother in law, boss and friend) right hand man. I now strive to make his life at work go as smooth and easy as possible!!:) I will also still find a way to stay connected to this generations pursuit of an authentic relationship with Jesus Christ so all you young people don't think you've gotten rid of me for good!!! It has been a bit of a stretch but I am excited to see what God is going to do at radiant church!! Our team consists of the most amazing people I have ever met and I couldn't see myself anywhere else!!

ps. the picture of kendra and I is of an ugly sweater party we hosted at church. As you can see I made mine from scratch, and my wife is incapable of looking anything but entirely beautiful. she tried though:)
